Reviewer Jeff Cramblit built a 22 Creedmoor rifle and tested it with a variety of bullet weights. The 22lr muzzle energy is the kinetic energy of the bullet as it leaves the muzzle. Primal Rights has been a big proponent of the .22 Creedmoor since before consumers were able to purchase properly headstamped .22 Creedmoor brass. Only one of nine A-Tip loads printed groups larger than an inch, with one right at an inch. It may not display this or other websites correctly. Higher FPS and/or a heavier projectile will make more force and give beter results. One of my closest friends has a custom rifle chambered in 6.5x280AI (yes, a wildcat of a wildcat - he's a velocity fein). My god that rabbit (or hare) just exploded at the endtook a while for that chunk of flesh to fall back into the shot in slo-mo. I have not grouped past 1,000 with that rifle yet though. Generally the heavier and faster the bullet the more damage it will do to the intended target. My obsessions lean heavily to burrowing rodents or predators willing to investigate the morbid cries of dying bunnies.
